Guess what Winston is full of??

Snips, snails and piggy tails
Winston really loves this pig. He really really loves this pig's tail.

This is what the pig's looks like now...

Yep, piggy is missing a tail because someone ate it!

Guess piggy isn't much fun now...

Puppy Bling

Winston had to have just the right id tag. It was a struggle to find something manly yet cute. As much as I hated to, I stayed away from the rhinestones. I went to one of my favorite websites: Etsy. I have always had great luck there finding neat, one of a kind items. Etsy didn't let me down! I found a wonderful store called With Love, Michelle. Please check her out! She makes beautiful hand stamped jewelry items for both people and 4 legged friends. Look at Winston's new bling:

It has his name on the top circle, phone number on the middle and address on the bottom. I tired to get a picture of him wearing it but he was bouncing all over the place! I think that means he really likes it!

Poo Patrol

What did you do last night? Oh, I was just out in the backyard with a flashlight checking my dog's poo! You see, I got Winston this cute toy that he really likes. Yeah, there are no strings left on it now. He ate not one, not two but all three! I am now on Poo Patrol to see if he passes them or we need a trip to the vet.

Food Success!

Winston ate today--ALL BY HIMSELF! I was feeding him by hand when I first got him because he was so nervous. After I week, I knew it was time to wean him :) Sadly, he wanted nothing to do with his food. I was only acting as an enabler because I would give him his Kong with peanut butter or cheese or dental treat. We went to visit my parents last night. We could tell he was hungry. Momma cut up a turkey hot dog for him and he scarfed it down. I had to work if maybe his food was just too hard. This morning I wet his food and he ate about 3/4 cup all by himself. Yay!

Friend or Foe?

Calla cat has been the queen of my house since I moved in a year ago....she was the queen of my apartment for 2 years as well. She is a good girl. The only trouble I have had with her is when she decided my new sofa would make a good scratching post, oh my! I wasn't sure how she would handle being a big sister.

The first night Winston was home, he and Calla would just look at each other from afar. Poor Calla was all out of sorts. She was used to a nice quiet house but Winston brought a lot of noise and energy. Calla hid out under the stairs for a few days.

Calla slowly began to venture out. She and Winston would just look at each other. One day I looked and they were nose to nose....guess what?? No blood was shed!

Calla seems to be warming up the idea of Winston being around. She is generally okay with him until he tries to sniff her behind (which would offend me as well!) or romp with her like she is one of his litter mates.

I hope things continue to go well and we can all live together in harmony :)

Comfy much?

This is where he would stay all day if I let him!

We can do steps!

Yay! Poor little Winston just couldn't handle the steps when he first got here. I was toting him up and down from the family room the main level. Sometimes he would try a step or two then freeze. After much encouragement (and I think he got tired of waiting for me!), Winston mastered the steps. He goes to fast that am scared he is going to tumble down!

Pup with No Name

Poor puppy had no name for 5 days--much too long! After much deliberation, I have decided he is a Winston. He needed a regal name. I mean, he is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! :)

Winston had a busy today. He went to visit my sister at the Averett bookstore, my co-workers at Grove Park and my mom at DCC. Everyone loved him. He was worn out by the time we got home and slept all afternoon.

I am scared to brag on him because I don't want to jinx anything but we are on a two day no accidents in the house/kennel streak! Yay!

On Wednesday, the people from Lowe's are coming over to measure for a fence. My yard is partially fenced and generally Winston doesn't go too far BUT someone is getting a little more brazen everyday. I want to be able to play outside with him and not worry about him running off.

I just want a dog to carry in my purse!

I love little dogs. I make no attempts to hide this fact. I love little fluffy maltipoos and itsy bitsy yorkies. I just want to love them and snuggle them and call them my own! Oh, and I really want to be able to carry them around in my purse!

After graduating from Longwood University, I moved into an apartment. Really, apartment life isn't the best for a dog...so, I got a cat. OMG! She was Satan's cat. I named her Gracie but quickly began calling her Demonia! She would attack me on a regular basis. But, she would sleep with me every night. I found a new apartment  move to which sadly, didn't accept pets. I didn't know what to do with Demonia. I couldn't take her the Humane Society because I knew what would happen to her....I couldn't just let her out the door. One of the guys helping me move, fell in love with her. And she liked him too! I told him that she was looking for a home. Demonia went to live with him. And surprisingly. they both LOVE each other.

I really missed having a pet after I moved. I tried talking to my apartment manager who is a pet lover. He never really told me no but I knew I risked eviction if the owners found out. Occassionly, I will break rules and this was one rule meant to be broken. I got a precious cat that was named Calla. We got along just fine.

About a year ago, I bought a house. I would be tempted with the idea of a dog but just didn't have time to give a puppy. I had taught Misty Cook's son a few years ago and would keep up with her and her family viz MySpace, Facebook, and Showcase magazine. I just loved the little Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that she was breeding. I picked up the newest Showcase and found an ad that I just couldn't refuse and before I knew it, I was a puppy mom.

This blog is all about me, Calla cat and a pup who currently has no name!
